由紀子さん、尊敬する友人の皆さん、今年も「百万人のキャンドルナイト」への呼びかけ有難うございます。パリでのＣＯＰ２１で、今月のＧ７首脳会合の宣言
に合致した新しい国際的な、強制力ある枠組みに合意できるよう、各国でそれぞれの政府、国会に働きかけましょう。

今日は同時に、日韓国交回復５０周年記念日です。日韓ともに政府首脳が記念祝賀会に参加することになりましたが、
今後是非この流れをしっかりと受け止めて、お互いの国で「人間の尊厳、平和、地球環境保全、自由、法の支配等」
普遍的価値を大切にした国づくりに邁進しましょう。

国連 DPI/NGO 会議は、パリ、メキシコ、メルボルン、ボン、NYと、開かれてきました。
モットーは「相違を生み出すために、共に動こう」 です。

2015 年は、ミレニアム問題から、持続可能性な開発にむけての転換の中で、様々な催しがあります。

2016年に向けての準備も進んでいます。

引き続き、共に動いて参りましょう。

「ミャンマー公演について」ネイトン教授よりのお手紙

Dear Nay Htun-san,
Many thanks for your kind invitation for us LA to present our environmental musical performance in Myanmar
in early December this year. My reply to you has been unfortunately delayed, because I was out of Tokyo to help
Nepalese people suffering from the tragic earthquake that hit Nepal on 25th last month.

Fortunately, all of my friends with whom I have worked on our joint study projects in Nepal for the last three
years were safe and in good health, but many of their friends have lost their homes, while they fortunately
survived the tragic disaster.

I talked yesterday with Masayo-san, the head of our theatrical group who expressed her gratitude to you for
your kind interest in our musical. Since 2014 we have been staging, as I told you in Yangon last year, a new
version of our musical entitled Dawn over the Amazon focussed on tropical forest conservation and income
generation of the indigenous people in Amazonia through agro-forestry and agri-business whose products are
now sold all over the world through the initiatives of a Japanese businessman deeply concerned with poverty
reduction and sustainable development in all countries, developing and developed. We could revise the version
to suit to the concrete situation in Myanmar, say, by introducing the River irawaji rather than the Amazon.

According to her, UNCLA could accept your kind invitation, provided that financial support be given to its
musical presentation in Myanmar. Japan Fund for Global Rnvironment, government agency to support NGOs
concerned with the environment had been supporting UNCLA’s performance in Japan consecutively since 2001,
while its overseas performance during the last decade and a half has been supported by Japan Foundation, another
government agency to support NGOs in all fields, including those performances last November in Geneve, Paris
and Brussels. Our Myanmar performance can be realized if Japan Foundation should support us. For this, we
need to have your kind initiative to request our Japanese Embassy and Japan Foundation in Yangon to support
our trip to Myanmar and our performance in Bagan and Yangon. We also need your kind cooperation to identify
and use the theatres in those two cities where our performance can be staged. Masayo-san says that she would
be pleased to send you a rough estimate of such cost which you could kindly use when requesting our Embassy/
Japan Foundation in Yangon for such assistance. While their full financial assistance will be most appreciated, but
partial assistance will also help.

今年の12月上旬に、ミャンマーでの環境ミュージカルのプレゼンに、NYまでご招 待頂 きありがとうございます。
お返事が遅れてしまったのは、東京に出向いていたからで、先月の25日にネ パール で起こった震災の被災者を助けるためでした。
3年間、ともに学んだ仲間は無事でしたが、仲間の友人たちは、悲惨な震災を生 き延 びましたが、家を失いました。
昨日、芸術監督であるまさよさんとお話をして、ミュージカルに興味を持ってく だ さったことを感謝しておりました。

まさよさんによると、UNCLAは、ミャンマーで の ミュージカルの金銭的サポートに関するあなたの心ある申し出を嬉しく思っております。

日本の財団(NGOをサポートする政府機関、環境機関)は、2001年から連続的にUNCLAのパフォーマンスを支援してきました。海外でのパフォーマンスへの支援もあり、昨年のヨーロッパでのパフォーマンスもそうでした。
政府機関のサポートがあれば、ミャンマーでの公演が現実的になります。

そのためには、あなたの心あるリードが必要です。(ミャンマーにて、BaganとYangonでの、公演が可能となるように、日本大使館やYangonにある日本の財団への働きかけです)
また、どの劇場で公演が可能となるのか、ご協力が必要です。
Masayo-sanは、大体公演にいくら費用がかかるかと、Yangonにある財団と日本大使館 にサポートが出来ないかを聞いてほしいとのことです。全面的な支援はもちろん嬉しいですが、一部だけでも助かります。
